Is Fear Killing Your Dreams?

Is Fear Killing Your Dreams?

Fear has killed far more dreams than anything else.

It is not lack of skill, money, circumstance, or situations that kills most people’s dreams it is FEAR.

Sometimes you are just too scared to start, let alone go the distance to succeed.

Fear of succeeding is also a very real thing. Now that sounds silly, you might think – but just stop and take a look at a few things you haven’t done. Ask yourself, were you afraid of succeeding?

How do you overcome the fear that is keeping you from chasing your true dream? The things you really want to do with your life.

Are you constantly stressed, worried, and thinking about everything that could go wrong if you really went for something that you want?

Is Fear Killing Your Dreams?

Let’s start by redefining FEAR

  • False
  • Evidence
  • Appearing
  • Real

False, evidence, appearing, real; now that doesn’t sound quite as scary. Easy to say!

Discover Your Fears and Understand Them.

How many times have you been scared in the middle of the night . . .

Until you realise what is causing the noise.

You hear a scary noise that wakes you up in the middle of the night. You are sitting bolt upright in your bed with sweat on your brow.

Then you realise the noise is . . .

The noisy fridge, your cat jumping off the bookshelf, the wind blowing the cushion off the outdoor setting or something else that makes you go ‘oh, I don’t need to worry about that at all.’

Once you find out what is making the noise you are no longer fearful.

It is the same when you are trying new things. When you get through that first step you know what to expect and it is often not nearly as scary as you thought it would be.

You might even surprise yourself at how easy it is!

Decisions vs Actions

There is an old riddle about frogs:

There are 5 frogs sitting on a lily pad.
1 decides to jump off.

How many are left?
4, right?

No!

The correct answer is 5, because the frog has only thought about jumping off the lily pad and hasn’t actually done it yet.

She has only decided that jumping is something that she needs to do, without taking action. Because of this, she is still in the same situation as the other frogs despite her decision. You can be the frog that jumps, and you have got this.

It is the thought that counts – No, not if you don’t action it.

Don’t Be Scared of Mistakes

There is no failure; only trying and learning.

Yes, you will make mistakes along the way but being scared of them does not help you grow as a person. If you take each mistake as an opportunity to learn then you are never truly failing, just growing and learning more as you go.

Manoeuvring around your errors can be an amazing skill for the future and one that you will only learn if you try.

Without the courage to push through, we would not have many of the modern conveniences that we enjoy today, like electricity, phones, TVs, movies we love and many others.

You Can Do It!

You are amazing, you are successful, you are the best.

But something is missing.

Choosing to change is great and it is the first step, but now you have to ACT on it as well.

You can do it!

To be amazing you will need to challenge yourself, stretch, push and get out of your comfort zone.

How will you know what you are capable of if you don’t try?

Live the Life You Always Dreamed of.

Yes, you can.

Part of life is learning new things and there is never a better time than right now.

Think about what you could do with your life if you tried. There are so many exciting new paths out there for you.
