I shifted the rice, emptied the veggie crisper, and checked every shelf. Nothing. The beeping went off again. Make a decision and close the door. It was practically yelling at me.
I sighed, closed the fridge, and put the kettle on for tea. I would have to settle for something else for afternoon tea. Time was slipping away, and I needed to get back to work.
Hours later, my husband arrived home. I told him about the missing apple, wondering if it was still in a shopping bag in the car. Without hesitation, he opened the fridge, reached in, and pulled out the apple. Right at eye level. With a cheeky grin, he held it up. “This apple?”
The very same apple I had been searching for.
This is exactly what happens in business. You can be searching for answers, trying different strategies, and still not see the solution right in front of you. That is where a coach helps. They bring clarity, uncover the missing piece, and help you move forward with confidence.
Many coaches struggle with this same challenge. They work hard, follow advice, and still feel stuck. That missing piece is usually found in one of three areas: Niche, Plan, or Execute.
1. Niche: Know What You Are Looking For

Your niche is not just about picking a market. It is about positioning yourself as the perfect solution for a specific type of client. Without this clarity, you will waste time chasing leads that do not convert.
Ask yourself:
- Who do I help best?
- What specific problem do I solve?
- Why should someone choose me over another coach?
If you struggle to answer these, it might be time to refine your niche.
2. Plan: Organise Your Thoughts and Strategy
Once you know what you are looking for, you need a plan to find it. Without a plan, your business can feel like my fridge search. Frustrating, time consuming and with little to no results for your efforts.
A plan helps you:
- Set clear goals
What do you want to achieve in the next 30, 60, or 90 days?
For example, Get your first client in 30 days.
- Create a marketing roadmap
How will you attract, engage, and convert clients? - Develop a content strategy
What will you share to position yourself as an expert?
Many coaches struggle with planning because they try to do too much at once. A simple, structured plan helps you focus on what will move your business forward.
3. Execute: Take Action and Stay Accountable

- Get overwhelmed and do nothing
- Keep learning but never implement
- Try too many strategies and burn out
Execution is about taking consistent, focused action. It is not about doing everything. It is about doing the right things in the right order.
A coach can help you:
- Stay accountable to your goals
- Avoid distractions and shiny object syndrome
- Adapt your strategy when needed to get better results
When you have clarity, a plan, and the right execution strategy, your business grows faster and feels easier.
